SOLIX C1000 Gen 2 power station unveiled by Anker

Anker SOLIX consistently puts out power stations that sit atop the backup solution hill and has become quite the popular brand for folks looking for means to keep devices, appliances, and home running during emergencies, camping trips, road trips, and the like. Today, the powerhouse brand is unveiling the next evolution of a popular model released two years ago in its new SOLIX C1000 Gen 2 Portable Power Station. The brand is building upon the unit’s past two years of successful backup power support with improved fast-charging tech within a more compact design that keeps real-life scenarios in mind. Head below to get the rundown on what to expect from this new release.
Anker’s new SOLIX C1000 Gen 2 Portable Power Station starts things off with a slightly smaller 1,024Wh LiFePO4 battery from the predecessor’s 1,056Wh capacity, which isn’t much of a difference; however, its output has increased from the previous models’ 1,800W output to 2,000W (and surging as high as 3,000W), tackling hungrier appliance needs, which will not only support short-term trips into nature and beyond, but can also handle an increased number of larger appliances when the power grid fails.
The battery in this new model comes rated for 4,000 life cycles (over the previous gen’s 3,000 life cycle rating), so folks discharging and recharging it every day will be able to do so for nearly 11 years, so you can only imagine how much longer its lifespan will last with more sparing usage – especially considering many people tend to charge their power stations up once every few months to keep as a backup plan when the power goes out or using it during weekend getaways into nature and the like. What’s more, once reaching that 4,000th life cycle, the brand claims it will be able to maintain an 80% battery capacity, giving you continued use long after you’ve gotten your money’s worth from it.

The Anker SOLIX C1000 Gen 2 power station weighs in at 24.9 pounds, over the predecessor’s 28.44-pound weight, which is a decrease of 11% of its previous weight due to both the decreased battery size and the removal of one of its output ports. Don’t worry, as you can still connect up to 10 devices/appliances with the available ports broken down into five AC ports, two 140W USB-C ports, one 15W USB-C port, one 12W USB-A port, and one 120W car port.
The Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) system here promises a “switchover time of less than 10ms for non-stop power to keep high-power devices such as CPAP machines, laptops, Wi-Fi, or aquariums running during blackouts.” This is half of the previous models’ switchover time, with the brand giving that station an “under 20ms” rating, ensuring an even more unnoticeable period between the grid going down and your connected devices/appliances receiving their juice from the station.

Alongside the usual array of smart controls that are available via the companion app, we’re also seeing the continued options for recharging its own battery, but with improvements. The previously mentioned step-up in fast-charging tech has cut down its charging time when plugged into a standard wall outlet from 58 minutes for a full battery to 49 minutes. The maximum solar input has remained the same at 600W, and there are additional options to connect a generator, utilize both AC and solar charging together, or plug into your car’s auxiliary/cigarette port to charge as you drive, which is always nice for top-offs rather than full-battery refueling, unless you’re driving cross-country and have days’ worth of travel ahead of you.
