Elon Musk (Tesla’s CEO), recently unveiled the Tesla Cybertruck, which seems to look more like a truck from the future where robots are leading the planet, and the curved lines of the vehicles no longer matter.

However, giving the fact that we need to reduce the level of air pollution produced by vehicles, any electric vehicle newly created and presented on the market, is more than welcome because it brings us closer to the clean future that will follow.

Known and Less Known Specs about the Tesla Cybertruck

1. Uses Space In A Very Efficient Way

Tesla Cybertruck uses less space than the most popular pickup truck in the United States (Ford F-150), due to the fundamental design change that removed the mass to the outside by creating an exoskeleton.

The body and the bed used by the vehicle, are both mounted on a frame, and even if these have no useful meaning, they allow the truck to have a skin that extends outside the vehicle and is very resistant, being made from a thick sheet of ultra hard stainless steel.

The sheet of ultra hard stainless steel is so strong, that it can’t be damaged not even if you use a sledge-hammer to hit the truck.

2. The Skin of the Tesla Cybertruck is Bulletproof to a 9mm Handgun

Shooting tests made with a 9mm handgun, have shown that the ultra hard sheet of stainless steel is bulletproof to such a weapon.

It seems that Tesla’s Cybertruck uses the same stainless steel alloy that is also used in the starship rocket.

3. Uses Adaptive Air Suspension

The adaptive air suspension used by this truck is common to all versions, and allows the driver to adjust the height of the vehicle to become more efficient on the highway (by lowering the height to reach the lowest clearance available), but also when going off-road (by increasing the height to reach the highest clearance available).

The air suspension has a pneumatic source provided by an air compressor.

4. Relies on “Transparent Metal Glass”

The “transparent metal glass” referred by Elon is actually armored glass.

The truck uses this ultra-strong glass with polymer-layered composite that is not bulletproof, but if you use a pretty large ball of steel to hit the windshield, the armored glass will stop the heavy ball of steel from entering inside the cabin.

5. Tesla Cybertruck Easily Wins Against A Ford F-150 in a Pulling Contest

This truck develops so much power that it can easily win against a Ford F-150 (or any other truck) in a pulling contest (this is like comparing future technology with current technology).

6. Tesla Cybertruck is Extremely Fast

This electric truck built by Tesla is so fast that it can easily win a quarter mile drag race against the latest version of the Porsche 911.

The onboard battery of the truck can exceed 250+ kW, and because the car is actually a generator, you can use the on-board outlets of 110 V and 220 V for charging.

7. Autopilot is Standard on All Three Versions

Autopilot is a standard option on all versions of Tesla Cybertruck.

8. Is Extremely Affordable

There are three versions of Tesla Cybertruck available for ordering:

Single Motor (RWD)

The single motor version of Tesla Cybertruck has a price (before incentives) of only $39,900.

The vehicle does 0 to 60 mph in 6.5 seconds, has a top speed of 110 mph, and comes with a range of at least 250 miles.

The towing force of this version is 7,500 lbs and the payload is 3,500 lbs.

Dual Motor (AWD)

For the price of $49,900, you can order the middle version of Tesla Cybertruck, which does 0 to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds, has a top speed of 120 mph, and a range that can exceed 300 miles.

The towing rating is also higher 10,000 lbs, while the payload is the same 3,500 lbs.

Tri Motor (AWD)

This is the top version of the Tesla Cybertruck and comes with a price of $69,900 (before incentives).

The truck does 0 to 60 mph in only 2.9 seconds, reaches a top speed of 130 mph (limited), and a range that can exceed 500 miles.

This version has the highest towing rate of 14,000 lbs and the same payload of 3,500 lbs.

9. There Will Be An Option To Add Solar Power

Elon Musk tweeted on November 22, 2019, that the Tesla Cybertruck might include in the future an option to add solar power on the roof and the retractable bed cover of the truck.

Webpro Education recently announced that by adding solar power on the back of the Tesla Cybertruck we can increase the range of the vehicle by an average 15 miles per day.

By adding fold out solar wings, we can increase the range of the vehicle by 30 to 40 miles.

10. Tesla Cybertruck is Massive

People that already took a ride with the Tesla Cybertruck say that this is a massive truck (it is about the size of a Hummer).

This is a six-seater vehicle, that was perfectly built for camping.

Final Conclusion

Tesla Cybertruck is already available for ordering at a staggering price that starts under $40k, which is way lower than the price paid for trucks built by other car manufacturers, which use internal combustion engines that are polluting the atmosphere.

As time passes, electric vehicles will become more and more popular among drivers, and this only means that the air that we all breathe daily will become much cleaner.
