Adamawa to create 40,000 jobs with clean energy drive | The Guardian Nigeria News

Adamawa State is set to unlock multi-billion dollar investments and create over 40,000 jobs through clean energy initiatives, according to George Kushi, Principal Special Assistant to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri on Media and Communications.
Speaking during the state’s first quarter 2025 media parley, Kushi highlighted Governor Fintiri’s unwavering commitment to reposition Adamawa as a hub for renewable energy innovation tailored to meet 21st-century energy demands.
“At the heart of this transformation is a landmark Memorandum of Understanding signed with Liberal Energy for the development of a 300-megawatt Solar PV farm,” Kushi announced.
“This, coupled with our strategic collaboration with the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), is expected to unlock billions in private sector investments and create over 40,000 job opportunities for our people.”
In line with this vision, the state has commenced the annual training of 1,000 citizens in solar photovoltaic installation to build local capacity in clean energy.
Beyond energy, the administration is investing in human capital through the PAWECA-led “10,000 Youths for 2025 Skills Acquisition Training Program,” which Kushi described as a life-changing initiative aimed at empowering young Adamawans with entrepreneurial and vocational skills for self-reliance and global competitiveness.
Kushi also praised Governor Fintiri’s commitment to inclusive governance, citing the creation of new chiefdoms and emirates as strategic steps in securing ungoverned spaces and reinforcing traditional institutions. “The coronation of new chiefs and emirs underscores our dedication to peace, culture, and community development,” he said.
Other key projects under the Fintiri administration include the Jimeta Ultra-Modern Shopping Complex, a massive digital skills training program targeting 100,000 beneficiaries, and ongoing infrastructure developments such as roads and flyovers now at advanced stages.
“With strategic investments across energy, youth development, digital innovation, and infrastructure, Adamawa is firmly on the path to sustainable growth and prosperity,” Kushi concluded.
