Engie Constructs 400-MW Solar Park in India’s Gujarat

The French company is now building a 400-MW solar park in the Indian state of Gujarat after winning the project in a local tender. The complex will be powered by a 25-year power purchase agreement with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam (GUVNL). Once operational, the park will generate 907 GWh of electricity a year and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 774,112 tonnes. Engie is aiming to expand its Indian renewable power portfolio to 1.5 GW with the addition of this new park. The company is also striving to reach a global renewable portfolio of 80 GW by 2030.
