Lhyfe To Supply Green Hydrogen To Hyliko’s Refueling Station, A Center Of Excellence For H2 Trucks
A first of its kind in France.
Lhyfe, a France-based company and green hydrogen production pioneer, announced that it will supply green H2 to Hyliko’s refueling station for hydrogen trucks. This is a significant milestone for Lhyfe and France as the hydrogen refueling station is part of the nation’s first dedicated hydrogen truck center. It furthers France’s commitment to decarbonize transportation with zero-emissions haulage.
The station was introduced as part of Hyliko’s center of excellence for hydrogen trucks.
In addition to the refueling station, the dedicated center of excellence for hydrogen trucks will also feature a maintenance facility.
Specifically, the site combines a green hydrogen refueling station dedicated to heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) powered by hydrogen fuel. The public station offers speedy refueling (refueling an HGV with green hydrogen takes just under 20 minutes) and a compression capacity of 350 bars. The plan is to eventually increase this to 700 bars.
As for the maintenance center, this facility is dedicated to hydrogen HGVs and trained professionals are available to handle the technology.
Lhyfe is France’s leading supplier of green hydrogen.
The company uses electrolysis of water at production units powered by renewable energy to produce green and renewable hydrogen. Lhyfe opened its first green hydrogen production site in 2021, just four years after it first launched. Now, the company has four installed sites, with several more in the works across Europe.
CEO and Founder of Lhyfe, Matthieu Guesné, stated that Hyliko center of excellence is a “major step forward for hydrogen mobility.” Guesné also said that Lhyfe is “proud to be part of France’s first centre of excellence for hydrogen trucks,” adding that haulage operators need H2 vehicles, renewable hydrogen, maintenance centers and H2 refueling stations to service them, noting that heavy mobility and road transportation is a key sector for decarbonization.
The first of Hyliko’s retrofitted H2 HGVs are being used on the road.
Hyliko is a leader in zero-emissions mobility for heavy goods vehicles. The company can convert combustion engine vehicles into a hydrogen vehicle. The first hydrogen vehicles retrofitted by Hyliko are currently in commercial operation on French roads for Toyota, the Berto Group, Labatut LVI, Bert&You, and Point P’s haulage operators.
The center of excellence supplied by Lhyfe’s green hydrogen, will officially open next September.
