Sonnedix secures US$1.3 billion to accelerate Chile’s renewable energy and storage
Sonnedix, a global renewable energy company with 12 GW of total capacity, has secured US$1.3 billion through a landmark refinancing transaction in Chile.
The transaction will accelerate Sonnedix Chile’s renewable energy development pipeline in the country, including its energy storage and hybrid projects.
The agreement refinances 1 GW of operational solar and wind capacity across Chile, while also financing 117 MW of battery energy storage systems currently under construction, offering significant geographic and technological diversification across the country.
The refinancing is underpinned by a high-quality portfolio with strong and predictable revenue visibility, supported by a diversified mix of investment-grade private PPAs and regulated revenues. This strong contractual and regulatory foundation provides a resilient platform for growth, enabling Sonnedix Chile to accelerate the development of its renewable energy pipeline.
The transaction is a further example of Sonnedix’s long-term commitment to the energy transition and growing its renewable energy and storage capabilities.
